OUR MISSION
Because of His Love (BOHL) Outreach is committed to loving every person, bringing hope to every situation, and empowering the next generation. We are committed to providing a safe space where the people we serve can be heard, seen, and supported through various seasons in their lives. Our goal is to reestablish the community and families by providing educational and supportive services to pregnant women, their children, and fathers that will impact future generations!

OUR STORY
WHERE WE STARTED
Because of His Love (BOHL) Outreach began in 2008 by founders Alwyn and Vickee Walker. They shared a deep passion for the brokenhearted, the hopeless, and those deemed unworthy. This passion led them to answer God's call and begin their work throughout Detroit, to people and places where most were afraid to go. Using their own finances, they provided food, clothes, conversation, hugs, and the opportunity to receive prayer. Alwyn and Vickee never met a stranger. They opened their home to mentor others and provided a safe haven to be transparent with struggles, yet never lacking in showing the love of God to every person they encountered!
WHERE WE ARE
This mission went on for years until the untimely passing of Al in 2015. His wife continued to keep the dream alive until she couldn't anymore.
In 2020, after much prayer, Al and Vickee's daughter, Lesley and son-in-love Robert, said YES to carrying the mantle and continuing the mission of BOHL Outreach. Since its re-birth, Robert and Lesley joined their pursuit and opened their homes to mentor young adults across Metro Detroit. Robert and Lesley share a passion to see families restored, which led to their latest initiative, providing educational and supportive services; including men and women support groups, maternal infant health programs, park stewardships, and financial literacy to name a few.
Robert and Lesley are very active in their community and have the same passion as the founders; to see people healed, families restored and the City of Detroit revitalized by showing the love of God to each person they serve.
